In Family Day Care, there is only one Educator in the home environment. Despite having a very firm illness policy at Aunty Clair’s Family Day Care, on occasion the Educator will require sick days at very short notice when She, or someone in the Family Day Care home has a contagious illness.

Further to this, Family Day Care Educators, like most people, don’t work 52 weeks a year, so will also be closed at times for family holidays and over the Christmas period, taking unpaid leave. This will be with plenty of notice to enroled families.

Lastly, Family Day Care Educators occasionally have personal commitments of priority a few times a year such as their own Child receiving an award at School or to attend the Easter Hat Parade or a Mothers Day school event for example. Such events may require the Family Day Care to adjust opening times such as starting later or closing a little earlier. Child Care fees do not apply in these circumstances.
